We are seeking an experienced Construction Mechanical Superintendent to lead and oversee the mechanical construction activities for the Project in the UAE. The ideal candidate will ensure all mechanical installations, piping, structural works, and equipment erection comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and international standards. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage teams, coordinate construction activities, and resolve technical challenges in a high-demand Oil & Gas environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all mechanical construction activities, including piping, static and rotating equipment, structural steel, and HVAC systems.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, international codes (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, etc.), and safety regulations.
- Manage subcontractors and workforce, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to project timelines.
- Oversee the installation, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
- Monitor construction schedules, resources, and material availability, ensuring timely execution of work.
- Implement and enforce HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies related to mechanical construction.
- Work closely with engineering, QA/QC, procurement, and project management teams to resolve technical issues.
- Prepare progress reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical guidance on construction-related mechanical issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction supervision, with at least 3 years in Oil & Gas projects.
- Strong expertise in mechanical systems, piping, rotating equipment, and structural steel installations.
- Experience in large-scale Oil & Gas construction projects, preferably in remote/offshore or desert environments.
- Familiarity with HSE regulations, permit-to-work (PTW) systems, and construction safety best practices.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a rotational schedule in a challenging and remote project environment.
- Mandatory: Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the Middle East, particularly in UAE.
- Knowledge of construction management software and project planning tools.
- Experience with lifting plans, heavy equipment installation, and commissioning procedures.
- Familiarity with SAP, AutoCAD, and project management systems.
