Job description

Construction Manager – Electrical

The Construction Manager – Electrical is responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution, and delivery of medium to large‑scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, particularly in the power and infrastructure sectors. The role requires a highly experienced professional with a Degree Electrical Engineering and 8 to 15 years of proven experience in executing electrical projects across Gulf countries and/or India. The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to handle complex project environments, including substations, power plants, and overhead transmission line projects.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the construction of medium and large substations, including associated civil and electrical works. Demonstrated expertise in handling power projects such as high‑voltage substations, transmission networks, and overhead lines is essential. The Construction Manager will be accountable for overseeing all construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, design drawings, and contractual obligations.

A key responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth execution of the entire project lifecycle, from mobilization to commissioning and final handover. The candidate must possess strong project management skills to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors. The role demands excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to manage stakeholder expectations and resolve project‑related challenges efficiently.

The Construction Manager must take full ownership of project timelines, ensuring that all activities are completed within the stipulated timeframe and budget. This includes planning resources, scheduling work, monitoring progress, and implementing corrective measures when required. Strong supervisory and leadership capabilities are critical, as the individual will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering a productive work environment.

In addition to construction oversight, the candidate must ensure strict compliance with quality standards and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations. The role involves implementing and monitoring quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure that all works meet industry standards and client expectations. The Construction Manager must proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with construction activities, ensuring minimal disruption to project progress.

Experience in subcontractor management is a crucial requirement for this position. The candidate should have a proven track record of selecting, managing, and coordinating subcontractors to ensure that all work is executed efficiently and in compliance with project specifications. This includes reviewing subcontractor performance, resolving disputes, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Risk management is another key aspect of the role. The Construction Manager must identify potential project risks at an early stage and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns. The ability to make informed decisions under pressure and adapt to changing project conditions is essential.

The candidate must be self‑motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently while maintaining a collaborative approach within the project team. Strong problem‑solving skills are required to address technical and operational challenges effectively. Attention to detail, combined with the ability to see the bigger picture, will enable the successful delivery of projects that meet or exceed client expectations.

Overall, the Construction Manager – Electrical will have full responsibility for managing and supervising all construction‑related activities, ensuring the successful execution and timely completion of projects in line with contractual commitments. This role offers an opportunity to work on challenging and high‑profile projects, contributing significantly to the development of power and infrastructure sectors in the region.
