Job summary

ALFIRAS General Contracting is seeking an experienced Construction Manager- Civil to lead execution of large-scale projects in Abu Dhabi. You will manage site teams, subcontractors, and coordinate with clients and consultants to deliver safe, quality-built structures on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is mandatory.
• 12+ years of overall construction experience.
• 4–5 years in a Construction Manager role within a main contracting company.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale building projects.
• Experience with villa/residential and high-rise/mixed-use developments is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of civil/structural construction activities and finishing works.

Responsibilities

• Lead site construction activities from mobilization through project completion and handover.
• Oversee construction execution for large-scale building and villa projects per drawings and specifications.
• Manage site teams including CM, project engineers, site engineers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Plan and monitor daily/weekly activities to align with the project programme.
• Coordinate with PM, Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement and Commercial teams.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure coordination between civil, structural, MEP, architectural, and finishing works.
• Review methodologies, work sequences, method statements and site execution plans.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, quality standards and authority requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, resources, and progress.
• Conduct regular site inspections and coordination meetings with consultants and client reps.
• Manage site resources including manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Support delivery of milestones and handover, with regular progress updates.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Manager- Civil to oversee the execution and delivery of complex, large-scale construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong main contractor background, with extensive experience managing site operations, construction teams, subcontractors, and multiple project activities from execution through completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, requirements, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall site construction activities from mobilization through project completion and handover.
• Oversee construction execution for large-scale building and villa projects, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Manage and coordinate site teams including Construction Managers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, and subcontractors.
• Plan and monitor daily and weekly construction activities to ensure progress is aligned with the approved project programme.
• Coordinate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or site constraints, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure effective coordination between civil, structural, MEP, architectural, and finishing works.
• Review construction methodologies, work sequences, method statements, and site execution plans.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and relevant authority requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, manpower, resources, and work progress.
• Conduct regular site inspections and coordination meetings to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
• Coordinate with consultants and client representatives on construction progress, inspections, approvals, and technical matters.
• Manage site resources effectively, including manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Support the project team in achieving key milestones, project targets, and successful handover.
• Prepare and provide regular progress updates and highlight critical issues to senior management.
• Drive effective communication and coordination across all project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 12 years of overall construction experience.
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a Construction Manager role within a main contracting/construction company.
• Strong experience in the execution of large-scale and complex building construction projects.
• Proven experience in villa and residential development projects; experience in high-rise buildings, hotels, apartments, or mixed-use developments will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of civil and structural construction activities, architectural works, finishing, and overall building execution.
• Demonstrated experience managing large site teams, subcontractors, manpower, and construction resources.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project programmes, site coordination, and construction planning.
• Experience working directly with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction practices, standards, and HSE requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
