Overview

Metro Construction Director - Middle East Rail Project

Location : Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Salary : 72,000 - 82,000 AED per month, plus benefits

Type : Full-Time, Permanent. 60 hours / 6 days

This role is for the Construction Director, Rail - Metro Project, Dubai, UAE, with a world-class Construction and Engineering Consultancy. The project is the Construction of the Dubai Metro - Blue Line for which Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the end client.

The project spans 30 km of track with 14 stations (approximately 15.5 km underground and 14.5 km elevated tracks) and includes features such as the Dubai Metro’s first over‑Creek viaduct and a depot at Al Ruwayyah 3.

Our client seeks a candidate with substantial experience in constructing Rail and Metro projects, preferably with exposure to the Middle East market.

The Role of Construction Director - Metro / Rail Middle East

• Lead the construction of a new Metro line and associated stations (14 stations in total). Stations experience in the GCC from inception to completion is required, including building and delivering stations.
• Serve as the senior point of contact reporting to the client, working for the PMC, and overseeing the D&B contractors for the Construction of this project.

Requirements for the Construction Director, Rail / Metro - Dubai

• Experience with PMC or D&B for metro projects, ideally not primarily a main contractor background.
• Minimum 22-28 years of experience building rail and metro projects globally, with substantial experience in the Middle East / GCC.
• Extensive experience in high-level client liaison in the Middle East, strong diplomacy skills, and a proven delivery track record.
• Spent 50-75% of career on Rail / Metro projects, with broad Rail Construction experience.
• Sector experience focused on Rail.
• Construction-related degree; chartered status or similar credentials are a bonus.
• Experience with a PMC or D&B organisation for Rail and Metro projects is mandatory.
• Past and present director-level experience (e.g., Construction Director or Project Director).
• Overall experience in managing very large projects and programs (mandatory).
• Experience managing a team of Rail Construction Professionals and overseeing contracting organisations for projects.
