Job summary

PeopleStrong in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a dedicated Cost Audit Specialist for construction projects in Dubai. You will lead periodic and project-based audits to ensure expenditure accuracy and policy compliance.

You will review invoices, variations, and payment certificates, reconcile budgets and contracts with actual costs, identify anomalies, and prepare findings for senior management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic and project-based cost audits to verify construction expenditure.
• Audit contractor and subcontractor invoices, payment certificates, variations, claims, and documents.
• Reconcile budgets, contracts, POs, invoices, payments, and actual costs.
• Identify duplicate payments, incorrect rates, unsupported costs, overbilling, and unauthorized spend.
• Review contractual rates, BOQ quantities, material and labour costs, and subcontractor charges.
• Verify project costs comply with contracts, budgets, procurement procedures, and policies.
• Audit procurement and purchasing transactions related to construction projects.
• Highlight cost leakage and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare audit findings and present recommendations to senior management.
• Follow up on implementation of agreed cost-control and audit recommendations.
