Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Construction Buyer for a Semi Government - Real estate Developer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vendor pricing, sourcing construction materials, and handling in-house buying. Experience working with a main contractor and knowledge of building services and mid to high-end fit-outs is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source and procure construction materials, tools, and equipment in line with project requirements and timelines.
  • Obtain competitive pricing from vendors and negotiate terms to ensure cost-efficiency.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, quotations, and contracts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with project teams, site engineers, and quantity surveyors to understand material needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and track procurement schedules against project timelines.
  • Monitor market trends and price fluctuations in construction materials.
  • Manage and maintain procurement records and supplier databases.
  • Work closely with the finance and logistics teams to ensure smooth procurement-to-delivery processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in construction procurement, preferably with a main contractor or Developer.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials, including MEP, civil, architectural, and finishing items.
  • Hands-on experience in in-house buying and vendor pricing evaluation.
  • Solid understanding of building services and mid to high-end project requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software/tools and MS Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
