Job summary

Arada in Dubai seeks a Concept Architect to lead the development of innovative architectural concepts across mixed-use, residential, hospitality, retail, cultural, and master planning projects.

The role requires a highly creative architect with strong conceptual thinking, visualization skills, and proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, SketchUp, and 3ds Max. Collaboration across disciplines is essential to meet design objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture (BArch / MArch).
• Minimum 5–8 years of professional architectural experience in an international setting.
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience focused on concept design, schematic design, or design competitions.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, visualization, and design capability.
• Experience across mixed-use, residential, hospitality, retail, commercial, or cultural developments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts, spatial planning strategies, and design narratives for a variety of projects.
• Prepare concept sketches, diagrams, mood boards, presentations, renders, and 3D visualizations.
• Utilize Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, SketchUp, and 3ds Max to refine design concepts.
• Apply computational and parametric design techniques using Grasshopper.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Assist in preparing design presentations, competition submissions, client workshops, and design reviews.
• Ensure designs comply with building regulations, sustainability principles, and project guidelines.
• Stay current with global architectural trends and AI-powered design tools.

The Concept Architect will support the development of creative and innovative architectural concepts across a diverse portfolio of mixed-use, residential, hospitality, retail, cultural, and master planning projects. The role requires a highly creative architect with strong conceptual thinking, visualization capabilities, and proficiency in advanced architectural design software.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design process from research and concept development through presentation, producing compelling architectural solutions that align with project objectives, market trends, and international design standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts, spatial planning strategies, and design narratives for a variety of projects including buildings, interiors, and master planning developments.
• Prepare concept sketches, diagrams, mood boards, presentations, renders, and 3D visualizations to effectively communicate design intent.
• Utilize architectural design software including Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, SketchUp, and 3ds Max to develop and refine design concepts.
• Apply computational and parametric design techniques using Grasshopper to explore innovative architectural solutions where appropriate.
• Conduct precedent studies, site analysis, benchmarking, and design research to support concept development.
• Collaborate with Senior Design Architects, Urban Designers, Landscape Architects, and Design Managers throughout all concept design stages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary consultants including Structural, MEP, Interior Design, Landscape, and Infrastructure teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Assist in preparing design presentations, competition submissions, client workshops, and internal design reviews.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building regulations, planning requirements, sustainability principles, and project guidelines.
• Stay current with global architectural trends, innovative materials, AI-powered design tools, and emerging technologies.
• Integrate AI-assisted visualization and design tools to improve design exploration, rendering quality, and workflow efficiency.
• Support the delivery of high-quality architectural concepts while meeting project schedules and design objectives.
• Contribute to developing innovative, functional, and commercially successful architectural solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture (BArch / MArch).
• Minimum 5–8 years of professional architectural experience within an international architectural consultancy or developer.
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience focused on concept design, schematic design, or design competitions.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative concept development, visualization skills, and architectural design capability.
• Experience across mixed-use, residential, hospitality, retail, commercial, or cultural developments is preferred.
• Good understanding of architectural design principles, sustainability, user experience, and urban design fundamentals.

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in:

• Rhino

Working knowledge of:

• Revit (preferred)
• 3ds Max (preferred)

Knowledge of AI-powered architectural design, visualization, rendering, and workflow optimization tools is considered an advantage.
