Your job is to manufacture composite parts for boats, large drones, aerospace parts, and automotive parts.
Experience
- 3 years experience in composites manufacturing process in wet lamination and/or pre-preg, including carbon fibre and fibreglass.
- Working level of English.
Duties:
- Ensure that the work station and tools are clean and in proper condition before starting production.
- Cut fabrics according to templates and prepare/organize for each specific job.
- Prepare the molds before production. Wax according to best practices, set up on tables.
- Paint with 2K enamels or gel-coats prior to laminating. Ensure a thin spray for minimal weight.
- Prepare resin according to proper standards and specifications, and ensure the correct mix ratio. Verify that pot lives are respected and no large quantity of resin is left unattended in the pots.
- Prepare the vacuum or infusion process (including dry fabric spray, tack-on according to specific patterns/drawings).
- Wet laminate fabrics/sandwiches or lay down pre-pregs or process resin infusion (including infusion injector machine operation).
- Transfer parts to ovens, verify temperatures and curing schedules.
- Fabricate plugs from supplied CNC machined foam blocks.
- Fabricate molds from supplied plugs.
- Carve details in plugs according to drawings (part numbers, end of part lines, control lines, and other details).
Quality process duties:
- Ensure production efficiency of parts.
- Follow production timing requirements for each part and log timing follow-up.
- Record fabrication times and part weights in the appropriate tables.
- Verify parts tolerances and mechanical assembly clearances conform to requirements.
- Verify overall surface quality of parts.
- Log problems with molds or tooling.
- Analyze logged problems and trigger condition maintenance if required.
- Record jobs in progress into the company intranet progress report.
- Enter quality records into the company intranet quality page and/or progress report page.
- Apply 5S principles: keep the room and tools clean at all times, ensure tools and tables are returned to their proper positions at day’s end, store fabric rolls and materials properly, check the condition of cutters, empty bins daily, and ensure the floor is clean at the end of each day.
Production and inventory duties:
- Check raw material stock and tooling, and record inventory.
- Issue low inventory alerts to the Composite Production Manager for raw materials and tools.
- Transfer produced parts to the stockroom and inform the manager accordingly.
- Receive new stock, cutters, and tooling, and transfer to stock and production rooms.
Efficiency and improvement duties:
- Identify ways to improve production efficiency and advise the manager.
- Identify the need for new tools to improve production efficiency and advise the manager.
