As we expand our footprint, we are looking to strengthen our compliance framework and ensure robust governance across all operations.
The Compliance Manager will ensure that the company operates in full compliance with UAE laws, DLD regulations, RERA guidelines and internal policies. The person be responsible for overseeing all regulatory, legal, and internal compliance functions to support our current and future real estate projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all business operations and transactions follow legal and ethical standards, particularly with regard to real estate, financial, and off-plan project regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the real estate industry, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering (AML) and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, systems, and procedures to support the company’s operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable real estate regulations, escrow laws, off-plan project guidelines, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and corporate governance requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, external auditors, legal advisors, and government entities.
- Monitor changes in real estate laws, financial regulations, and compliance practices, and update internal policies accordingly.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
- Review and approve all marketing, sales, and promotional materials related to off-plan properties for regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with the Legal, Sales, Finance, and Development teams to align compliance efforts across all departments.
- Provide compliance training to internal teams and ensure awareness of regulatory requirements across the organization.
- Investigate any compliance issues or violations and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the Financial Controller with documentation, reporting, and audits related to financial and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CCEP, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the real estate development or construction sector.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate laws and off-plan regulatory frameworks in [Insert Country or Region].
- Familiarity with escrow regulations, RERA guidelines (or equivalent), AML laws, and corporate governance practices.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Experience with compliance systems/tools and regulatory reporting platforms.
- Knowledge of project financing and financial compliance in real estate development.
