A leading company in Dubai seeks a Compliance Officer to implement and manage AML and KYC programs. The role involves conducting due diligence, monitoring transactions for suspicious activity, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in finance or law, relevant certifications, and extensive experience in compliance roles.
Role Summary:
The Compliance Officer is responsible for implementing and managing anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) programs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This role ensures that the organization maintains effective safeguards to detect, prevent, and report suspicious activities related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain AML and KYC policies, procedures, and controls.
Conduct customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring for high-risk clients.
Review and analyze customer documentation to ensure compliance with KYC regulations and internal requirements.
Monitor transactions and generate alerts for suspicious activity using AML monitoring systems.
Investigate and resolve potential AML issues, escalating suspicious activity reports (SARs) as necessary.
Ensure regulatory reporting obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Stay up to date with global and local AML/KYC regulations.
Provide AML/KYC training to internal teams and promote a culture of compliance.
Liaise with regulators, auditors, and law enforcement as required.
Support periodic AML risk assessments and audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), CKYCA, or ICA certifications.
5+ years of experience in an AML/KYC compliance role, ideally within professional services, financial services and/or a DNFBP organization.
Strong knowledge of AML/KYC regulations, risk indicators, and financial crime prevention frameworks.
Experience with AML monitoring and case management systems.
Excellent analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.
High attention to detail and integrity in handling sensitive information.
