Job description

As a member of Munich Re the MedNet Group is a leading Third-Party Administrator across the MEA region. We are currently looking to hire a Compliance Manager for our MedNet Head office located in Dubai.

The Compliance Manager will lead and support the Board of Directors, General Managers and Senior Management Teams in conducting operations in a compliant way through fostering a sound compliance culture, providing suitable and up to date compliance norms based on robust compliance risk identification and assessment, by undertaking effective monitoring, and by providing adequate and timely training to address all relevant compliance risks and topics.

The Compliance Manager will work closely with direct reports, the MedNet Head of Compliance and Munich Re Regional Legal and Compliance Manager Africa & Middle East to ensure all MedNet and Munich Re group requirements are taken into consideration and implemented. The Compliance Manager is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and undertaking of MedNet internal control functions and as such compliance activities will be subject to internal reviews.

Your role:

  • Reporting on compliance matters to the General Manager(s), Head of Compliance, Munich Re Regional Head of Legal and Compliance, the Board of Directors and Munich Re GLC.
  • Deliver training for all relevant compliance risks and topics ensuring all training activity is adequately documented and participation is actively tracked.
  • Ensuring all compliance and associated company norms are reviewed within the agreed time period for validity and updated accordingly. This includes but is not limited to the Compliance and AML and Financial Crime Manuals.
  • Maintain, monitor and update the AML, Sanctions and Financial Crime Manual and any supporting procedures and processes ensuring they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Undertake client due diligence when onboarding new clients and maintain a robust documentation and a monitoring system to ensure re-vetting is undertaken in line with the risk level initially applied.
  • Assist with drafting MedNet contracts, agreements and letters to satisfy legal and compliance requirements as well as inter-company billing and auditor requirements to ensure services are agreed on and provided in a legal and compliant manner along with maintaining and managing record keeping of these contracts and whilst doing so escalating to the Head of MedNet as and when necessary.
  • Act as a responsible and responsive Manager for Board governance and compliance topics for each MedNet entity within the Compliance Managers area of responsibility.
  • Assist with preparing for the Board Meetings to meet legal and regulatory requirements, and to ensure that legal and compliance risks and reporting are properly included and follow up tasks are completed if required by the Board.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or any other relevant field.
  • Diplomas or professional certification in Compliance and / or Anti Money Laundering an advantage.
  • Experience in Health Insurance regulations and applicable laws
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance and regulatory business affairs within health insurance or a comparable sector.
  • Experience in managing a Compliance Management System and providing competent compliance advice.
  • Experience in dealing with regulators as well as higher management levels.
