Job summary

Eden Rose is seeking a Compliance Manager in Abu Dhabi to maintain and enhance the organization’s compliance framework in line with UAE laws and internal policies. You will report to the Compliance Officer/MLRO and provide independent oversight, monitor obligations, identify risks, and advise management.

Key responsibilities include developing policies, monitoring regulatory developments, conducting compliance testing, and ensuring remediation of any gaps while liaising with UAE regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant compliance experience within financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of UAE financial services regulatory requirements and interaction with UAE regulators.
• Professional qualifications such as CAMS, ICA, CISI, ACAMS or equivalent would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and implement the organization’s Compliance Framework, policies, procedures and controls in line with UAE regulatory requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization, ensuring timely implementation of relevant changes.
• Conduct periodic compliance monitoring and testing, identify control gaps and track remediation actions.
• Provide compliance guidance to senior management and business teams on regulatory requirements and activities.
• Oversee AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions, market conduct, client protection and conflicts of interest requirements.

Eden Rose is currently engaged with a financial institution within Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) who are seeking a Compliance Manager to be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization’s compliance framework in line with applicable UAE laws, regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Reporting to the Compliance Officer/MLRO, the Compliance Manager will provide independent compliance oversight, monitor regulatory obligations, identify and assess compliance risks, and advise management and business teams on regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and implement the organization’s Compliance Framework, policies, procedures and controls in line with applicable UAE regulatory requirements.


• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization, ensuring timely implementation of relevant changes.


• Conduct periodic compliance monitoring and testing, identify control gaps and track remediation actions.


• Provide compliance advice and guidance to senior management and business teams on regulatory requirements and business activities.


• Oversee compliance with applicable AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions, market conduct, client protection and conflicts of interest requirements.


• Support the development and enhancement of the organization’s financial crime and regulatory compliance framework.


• Maintain the regulatory obligations register and ensure key compliance requirements are appropriately monitored


• Identify, investigate and escalation compliance breaches, incidents and control deficiencies, and oversee remediation through to closure.


• Conduct compliance risk assessments and support the maintenance of the organization’s compliance risk profile.


• Support requirements relating to conflicts of interest, personal account dealing, market abuse, insider dealing, information barriers and employee conduct, as applicable.


• Liaise with applicable UAE regulatory authorities on compliance matters, regulatory enquiries, inspections and information requests.


• Prepare periodic compliance reports and management information for senior management and the Board


• Coordinate with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Operations and other control functions on regulatory/compliance matters.


• Deliver compliance training and awareness programmes and promote a strong culture of regulatory compliance.


• Maintain appropriate compliance records, registers and supporting documentation.


• Support regulatory inspections, audits and reviews, including preparation of responses and remediation plans.

The Compliance Manager will hold a Bachelors' Degree in a relevant discipline, 8+ years of relevant compliance experience within financial services, capital markets, investment firms, brokerage, asset management or a similarly regulated environment and a strong understanding of UAE financial services regulatory requirements and experience working with one or more applicable UAE regulators. Relevant professional qualifications such as CAMS, ICA, CISI, ACAMS or equivalent would be advantageous.
