Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or personal care is desirable.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to supporting people with differing needs.
• Good communication and listening skills with individuals, families and colleagues.
• Understanding of person-centred care, dignity, privacy, safeguarding, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities per care plans.
• Promote independence, dignity, and privacy in all aspects of care.
• Build professional relationships and communicate respectfully with individuals and families.
• Follow care plans and report changes in health, behaviour, or wellbeing promptly.
• Provide companionship and emotional support and encourage participation in activities.
• Assist with meals and hydration per dietary needs.
• Support safe movement using approved techniques and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and report hazards or incidents promptly.
• Keep clear, accurate records of care and communications.
• Work with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and coordinate with families and professionals.
• Follow safeguarding, infection prevention and health and safety procedures.
• Respect privacy and handle personal information confidentially.
• Attend required training and supervision and maintain knowledge of procedures.
• Perform other relevant care duties as assigned.
