The Job

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct site visits to assess facility conditions and recommend relocations or adjustments to improve space utilization.
  • Develop Basic Facility Requirements (BFR) and perform gap analyses for optimal facility use.
  • Prepare space optimization plans, including cost estimates and phased implementation strategies.
  • Review iNFADS (facility database) for accuracy and recommend updates.
  • Analyze facility energy and condition data to identify needs for upgrades, retention, or demolition.
  • Document findings through detailed reports, asset evaluations, and space utilization assessments.
  • Collaborate with tenant commands, contractors, and Public Works teams to identify current and future facility needs.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and progress reviews to develop solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Update architectural floor plans using tools like CAD, GIS, or other designated software.
  • Prepare space approval letters and related documentation for command endorsement.
  • Assist in planning studies, DD Form 1391 development, and real estate leasing actions.
  • Submit weekly project status updates and monthly summary reports.

The Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility planning, space optimization, or program support services.
  • Must be a Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Active or interim Secret Clearance is required.
  • Proficiency in tools like CAD, GIS platforms, and data analysis software.
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with government and contractor teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support projects in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of NAVFAC systems, processes, and standards is preferred.
  • Must be willing to deploy to Bahrain.
