Job Description

Position Overview

The Communications Lead is responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies in the GCC region. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance employee engagement and build a strong reputation for our company and products among partners and the community.

Primary activities include but are not limited to:

External communication strategy

  • Analyze the external landscape and stakeholders across GCC countries to develop aligned communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to plan and execute communication initiatives across various channels.
  • Maintain consistent corporate branding and messaging in all communications and branding activities.
  • Build relationships with media outlets, government bodies, trade associations, and NGOs in the GCC.

Therapeutic Area Communications

  • Create and implement communication plans to promote awareness of our medicines, vaccines, science, and pipeline, aligning with business goals.
  • Support cross-functional teams in executing franchise communication plans and collaborate with government media on awareness campaigns.

Media Management

  • Develop strategies for positive media coverage and manage media relations across the GCC.
  • Oversee social media channels to raise awareness and understanding of our products and pipeline.
  • Monitor media topics related to the pharmaceutical industry and manage issues and risks accordingly.

Internal Communications

  • Develop strategies for effective internal communication focusing on business priorities, reputation, change management, and employee engagement.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to create content aligned with brand guidelines and support internal initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison for regional and global stakeholders on communication activities.

Leadership Communications

  • Assist GCC leadership with internal and external communications, including briefing notes, speeches, and media interviews.

Event Organization / Participation

  • Plan and organize internal employee events and external PR events to enhance company visibility.
  • Gather insights on external activities to prioritize participation in industry and societal events.

Project Management & Administration

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external partners, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years in corporate communications, PR, or media agencies, with at least 4 years in healthcare or related sectors in the GCC.
  • Proven success in executing communication strategies and engaging with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, with excellent writing, editing, and verbal skills.
  • Creative, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong digital and social media expertise.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and languages in a fast-paced environment.
