Job description

PhillipCapital (DIFC) Private Limited is seeking a Commodity Derivatives Sales Manager to drive client acquisition and revenue growth for our commodity derivatives franchise, covering exchange-traded futures and options and structured OTC commodity solutions across metals, energy, and agricultural products. The role targets producers, trading houses, family offices, HNWIs, and institutional clients across the MENA region and select international markets.

This is a revenue-generating, client-facing sales role accountable for pipeline development, client onboarding, trading volumes, and the delivery of a high-quality execution and advisory experience across CME, LME, ICE, SGX and other major commodity venues. The successful candidate will bring an established network of commodity trading relationships and a track record of converting that network into active, revenue-generating client flow.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Acquisition
  • Build and execute a structured sales plan to acquire new commodity derivatives clients across producers, trading houses, family offices, and HNWIs.
  • Leverage an existing network of commodity market participants to bring new, revenue-generating relationships onto the PhillipCapital platform.
  • Identify target segments and geographies with the strongest potential for commodity derivatives flow, including Shariah-compliant and NRI-linked client bases.
  • Own individual revenue, trading volume, and net new client targets for commodity futures, options, and OTC derivatives.
  • Manage the full sales cycle — prospecting, pitching, onboarding, and account activation — in coordination with Sales Support and Operations.
  • Cross-sell across the wider PhillipCapital product suite, including brokerage, structured products, FX, and wealth solutions where relevant.
Product & Market Expertise
  • Maintain deep, current expertise across metals (precious and base), energy, and agricultural commodity derivatives, including hedging and speculative use cases.
  • Translate house research and market views into actionable trade ideas and client-facing commentary.
  • Partner with Trading, Research, and Product teams to ensure competitive pricing, market access, and product fit for client needs.
Client Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary relationship owner for an assigned book of commodity derivatives clients, ensuring high engagement and retention.
  • Monitor client trading activity, margin utilisation, and account health, escalating risk items promptly.
  • Deliver a differentiated, responsive service experience consistent with PhillipCapital's client standards.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
  • Operate within the DFSA regulatory framework and ensure full adherence to suitability, AML/CTF, KYC, conduct, and market abuse requirements.
  • Partner closely with Compliance, Risk, and Operations on client onboarding, margin and limit monitoring, and complex case approvals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, disclosures, and suitability assessments.
Candidate Profile
Experience
  • Minimum 5–8 years in commodity derivatives sales, brokerage, or trading, with direct client-facing experience across futures, options, and/or OTC commodity products.
  • Demonstrable track record of building and converting a client pipeline into active trading revenue.
  • Existing relationships with commodity trading houses, producers, family offices, or HNWIs across the MENA/GCC region strongly preferred.
  • Working familiarity with DGCX, LME, CME, and/or ICE market structures and product sets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, ideally in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Relevant regulatory or product certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of DFSA Conduct of Business and Client Classification rules an advantage.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong understanding of futures and options mechanics, margining, hedging strategies, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to originate, pitch, and close new client relationships in a competitive brokerage environment.
  • Excellent client-facing presence with the credibility to engage principals, treasurers, and trading desks.
  • Commercially driven, self-directed, and comfortable operating against revenue targets.
  • Multilingual capability preferred — English fluency required; Arabic, Hindi/Urdu, or other regional languages an advantage.
What We Offer
  • A platform to build a commodity derivatives client book backed by an established global financial services group with a strong Middle East and Africa footprint.
  • Competitive base salary with a performance-linked, revenue-based variable compensation structure.
  • Access to PhillipCapital's global product, research, and client referral network.
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and a genuine opportunity to shape a growing regional franchise.
