About the Role

Energetech is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Research Analyst to support our commercial teams by delivering insightful market analysis and identifying strategic opportunities across energy commodities, including refined products and biofuels. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our market strategies and business development efforts through rigorous research, actionable intelligence, and efficient use of advanced analytical and AI-driven tools.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in commodities or energy markets, familiarity with AI-driven analytics platforms, and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear strategic recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis across refined products, biofuels, and other relevant energy commodities.
• Leverage AI tools and advanced analytics platforms to amplify research capabilities and generate deeper insights.
• Monitor and interpret market trends, competitor activities, regulatory developments, and pricing dynamics to identify business opportunities.
• Develop insightful reports, presentations, and data-driven analyses to support senior management and commercial decision-making.
• Maintain and enhance market intelligence databases, utilizing AI-driven data collection and processing methods for efficient information retrieval and reporting.
• Evaluate new market entry opportunities, providing strategic insights into potential risks, benefits, and competitive landscapes.
• Support business development teams with targeted analysis, opportunity screening, and validation of commercial assumptions.
• Collaborate closely with trading and business development teams, translating market intelligence into actionable strategies.
• Stay abreast of geopolitical events, policy changes, and macroeconomic factors impacting the energy and commodity markets.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing by creating standardized methodologies, frameworks, and analytical templates.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related analytical discipline (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in market research, commodity trading analysis, or energy consulting.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting and analyzing market data.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools, Excel modeling, AI-driven analytics platforms, and presentation preparation.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Fluency in English; additional languages advantageous.
