Job summary

Hernshead Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support a major automation project in Dubai. You will commission, test and troubleshoot COPA-DATA Zenon-based systems, working closely with project teams to ensure successful on-site delivery.

The role requires hands-on commissioning experience in industrial automation, strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently on site while coordinating with electrical and controls engineers to hand over

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer in industrial automation or control systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with COPA-DATA Zenon is essential.
• Experience commissioning PLC, SCADA/HMI and control systems.

• Carry out commissioning activities on automation and control systems.
• Commission, test and troubleshoot COPA-DATA Zenon-based systems.
• Support the integration of control systems with plant and equipment.
• Fault-find and resolve software, controls and communication issues during commissioning.
• Assist with system testing, I/O checks and functional testing.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and ensure issues are resolved.
• Work closely with electrical, controls and project engineering teams.
• Provide technical support during start-up and handover.
• Complete commissioning documentation and punch lists.

Job description

About this position:

We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support a major automation project in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and supporting control systems on site, working closely with the wider project and engineering teams to ensure systems are tested, integrated and brought into operation successfully. This is a hands-on commissioning position and requires someone with strong industrial automation experience, particularly with COPA-DATA Zenon.

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry out commissioning activities on automation and control systems.
• Commission, test and troubleshoot COPA-DATA Zenon-based systems.
• Support the integration of control systems with associated plant and equipment.
• Fault-find and resolve software, controls and communication issues during commissioning.
• Assist with system testing, I/O checks and functional testing.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and ensure outstanding issues are identified and resolved.
• Work closely with electrical, controls and project engineering teams throughout commissioning.
• Provide technical support during start-up and handover.
• Complete commissioning documentation, test records and punch lists.
• Liaise with the project team and client representatives on site to ensure successful project delivery.

Experienced Required:

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within industrial automation or control systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with COPA-DATA Zenon is essential.
• Experience commissioning PLC, SCADA/HMI and control systems.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience with system integration, I/O testing and commissioning activities.
• Previous experience working on international projects and commissioning environments.
• Ability to work independently on site while working effectively as part of a wider project team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in Dubai for the duration of the commissioning project
