UK Nationals Only: Currently hiring for a Commissioning Electrical Systems Engineer to join our client on a long-term FPSO commissioning project, starting with 6-8 months in Dubai followed by continuation in Aberdeen through to 2027. Visa and flights will be included for the Dubai stint.

Role Summary:

The Commissioning Electrical Systems Engineer, reporting to the Commissioning Electrical Lead, will be an integral part of the project team, working collaboratively within the organization, systems, plans, procedures, and methods. This role involves pre-commissioning and dynamic commissioning of electrical low and high voltage systems related to a life extension project, including HV and LV distribution systems, downstream subsystems, small power distribution, lighting, sockets, and Heat Trace.

The engineer is responsible for monitoring the quality of discipline-related documentation, ensuring all necessary information for commissioning and start-up is available from all contractor sides, and reviewing FAT, SAT, and vendor procedures. Close coordination with engineering, construction, and management will be required to ensure alignment on plans and progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure activities conform to contract, Yard Execution Plan, and regulations, prioritizing health, safety, and environmental considerations.
  • Act in accordance with company values and HSE programs, representing the electrical commissioning discipline.
  • Coordinate with the base organization, project team, operations, and client to ensure clear scope definition and compliance.
  • Execute commissioning activities following established procedures, plans, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in establishing and managing the commissioning network within the Project Completion System (PIMS CMS).
  • Ensure timely planning and execution of commissioning activities, including reporting and documentation in PIMS CMS.
  • Contribute to risk management and change processes, and support interface coordination across disciplines and contractors.
  • Develop and review commissioning procedures, dossiers, and participate in handover processes to operations.
  • Participate in design reviews, safety studies, inspections, and meetings, providing updates on progress and delays.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and provide discipline-specific assistance as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor-level technical education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 15 years relevant experience in operation, project execution, and commissioning.
  • Experience with electrification projects, FPSO redeployments, and international projects is advantageous.
  • Recent experience on UK North Sea projects and in Middle East/Southeast Asian shipyards is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and systematic skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
