PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work as a commis chef, learning and practicing various skills in the kitchen.
  2. Perform basic food preparation, cooking, and serving tasks, maintaining high quality and presentation standards.
  3. Prepare appetizers, meat, and vegetables for entrees, and assist with food presentation.
  4. Keep work area clean, hygienic, and organized.
  5. Sample and taste food during preparation and cooking.
  6. Control cooking appliance temperatures and cook simple hot food items.
  7. Assist Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie with A La Carte orders.
  8. Learn to refill and maintain attractive buffet tables during operational hours.
  9. Assist in opening and closing food outlets and managing food storage.
  10. Handle and maintain equipment properly.
  11. Receive and implement constructive criticism professionally.
  12. Be punctual and maintain grooming standards.
  13. Report incidents, complaints, losses, and breakages to superiors.
  14. Support colleagues across departments to promote teamwork.
  15. Attend daily briefings, de-briefings, and training sessions.
  16. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Report Line & Communication
  1. Assist the Head Chef in maintaining culinary standards according to hotel policies.
  2. Maintain good relationships with colleagues and other departments.
