Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as a commis chef, learning various skills quickly and practicing them in the kitchen.
- Receive constructive criticism gracefully and follow instructions effectively.
- Perform basic food preparation tasks, cook, and serve delegated dishes, maintaining high quality and presentation standards.
- Prepare appetizers, meats, and vegetables for entrees, assisting with food presentation.
- Sample and taste food during cooking to ensure quality.
- Assist Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie with A La Carte orders.
- Refill and maintain the buffet table's attractiveness during operational hours.
- Control cooking appliance temperatures, fry, and cook simple hot food items.
- Keep the work area clean, hygienic, and tidy.
- Handle and maintain equipment properly.
- Assist senior chefs with opening and closing food outlets and storing food.
- Be punctual and report directly to the supervisor.
- Maintain grooming standards at all times.
- Report incidents, guest complaints, losses, and breakages to superiors.
- Attend pre-meal briefings, de-briefings, and training sessions.
- Assist colleagues when needed, demonstrating flexibility and helpfulness.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by superiors.
REPORT LINE & COMMUNICATION:
- Assist the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie in ensuring culinary standards comply with hotel policies and standards.
- Maintain good relationships with colleagues and other departments.
OTHERS:
- Engage in continuous learning through own IDP.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum high vocational diploma; culinary degree preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking, food presentation, and sanitization.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in tight spaces.
- Quick learner, team player, with good interpersonal skills.
