We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team specializing in International Cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in global flavors and cooking techniques, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality dishes.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of a wide variety of dishes from different international cuisines (e.g., Italian, Indian, Asian, Mediterranean, etc.).
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
- Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Store and label food items properly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Rotate through various kitchen sections to develop multi-cuisine skills.
- Assist in receiving and checking deliveries for quality and quantity.
- Support in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils.
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts (preferred but not mandatory).
- 2 years of kitchen experience (fresh graduates are welcome).
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Eagerness to learn about international cooking styles and flavors.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to or training in multiple cuisines such as French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, or Middle Eastern.
- Prior experience in a hotel, resort, cruise ship, or fine-dining environment.
