Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef, Commis Chef, or Kitchen Assistant is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, and portioning.
• Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and instructions.
• Support senior chefs during food preparation and service.
• Prepare basic sauces, salads, garnishes, and other assigned food items.
• Maintain proper portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Ensure food is stored correctly and handled according to food safety procedures.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures.
• Assist with receiving and organizing kitchen supplies when required.
• Minimize food wastage through proper preparation and storage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
