Job Description

The Commis Chef plays a vital role in assisting the kitchen team in preparing and cooking high-quality meals. They are responsible for following recipes, portion control, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. The ideal candidate should have a passion for food, be able to work well under pressure, and possess culinary skills.


Responsibilities

  • Assisting with food preparation and cooking.
  • Following recipes and portion control guidelines.
  • Ensuring food quality and presentation.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing food prep areas and equipment.
  • Assisting with ordering and inventory management.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team on menu planning.
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Assisting with menu development and recipe testing.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in culinary arts or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a commis chef or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for food.
