Position Overview

Be an active part of the Commercial team in this career development position, managing some existing customers whilst identifying, developing and monitoring targeted prospects through an efficient, dynamic and pivotal role, directly contributing to our bulk commercial success.

Roles and Responsibility

Operational:

  • Identify, engage, plan and develop new accounts.
  • Work closely to monitor and develop existing clients.
  • Follow-up clients of your portfolio for new requests, process improvements.
  • Actively support the Head of the Department in preparing clients’ reports, KPIs, SOP and SLA analysis
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team for new clients’ registration and on-boarding process.
  • Resolve day-to-day commercial issues with your assigned clients to ensure ERF best service quality.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and performance analyses for your clients, providing valuable insights and recommendations to enhance client partnerships incl. customer development plans.
  • Build and maintain an active presence across the market and with clients, understanding business needs, dynamics, being available and ensuring satisfaction with Etihad Rail Freight products or services.
  • Through your relationships with your portfolio of clients, identify and suggest new business opportunities which should be targeted to develop the activity.
  • Follow-up and report opportunities progression and leads through available tools.
  • Oversee account compliance to ensure company contracts are maximized to full potential.
  • Support for marketing materials, actions and supports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Customer Service, Terminal, Operations, Road Transport, Terminal and HSE teams to actively support that we deliver exceptional customer experiences and meet client expectations.
  • Analyze competition activities and market dynamics to adjust account strategies accordingly.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and market developments, anticipating changes in clients' needs, and tailoring solutions to meet evolving requirements.

General:

  • Be a dynamic contributor to Etihad Rail Freight commercial developments by on-boarding new clients, develop existing ones and position ERF as must-use service where our trains are active.
  • Take initiatives while seeking guidance, be autonomous while being team spirit oriented.
  • Be comfortable within a fast-changing environment, reflecting the change and the impact that rail brings into the UAE and the wider region
  • Be ready to perform other activities as required by the company both at the company premises and remotely when requested by the company.
  • Remain up to date with context of the Company and the role within it to provide insight on potential opportunities and/or challenges.
  • Contribute to the execution and delivery of any activities as and when required to ensure the continuity of work in the absence of other colleagues

Academic Qualifications:

  • Diploma preferred.
  • Degree in transport, logistics, industry or a related field is a plus

Professional Qualifications:

  • Industry Knowledge Certificate

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Relevant Experience
  • Existing relationships with our current customers
  • Experience of the bulk market in the UAE for faster on-boarding and clients’ development
  • Good knowledge of logistics, supply-chains, shipping or forwarding environment and trends
  • Product knowledge of the different modes of transport and their respective strengths
  • Good understanding of modern logistics operations and efficiencies,
  • Conversant with Sales Order Systems and IT systems.
