Key Responsibilities
- Support local stores with sourcing, merchandising, assortment planning, and product visibility for the light household category.
- Work closely with store teams to ensure planograms are executed correctly and aligned with approved merchandising standards.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to support timely delivery of goods, reliable supply, and proper execution of inventory plans.
- Partner with merchants to forecast product trends, estimate customer demand, and ensure products are available at the right time.
- Lead buying requirements for the category and prepare buying plans, budgets, and order monitoring processes.
- Review sales performance, selling space, market trends, and feedback from stores to develop accurate forward estimates for buying groups.
- Ensure in‑store visual merchandising standards and guidelines are implemented accurately across relevant product areas.
- Place promotions and best‑selling products in key store locations to improve visibility, customer engagement, and sales conversion.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of light household products, furniture, houseware ranges, category features, and customer preferences.
- Research local trade shows, market activity, supplier options, and merchandising ideas to identify new opportunities for the category.
- Coordinate with stores and commercial teams to improve product presentation, stock availability, and category performance.
- Track supplier performance, delivery timelines, order status, and product quality to support smooth retail execution.
- Use product knowledge and store feedback to recommend improvements in assortment, pricing, display, and promotional activity.
- Support brand visibility at the point of sale through stronger merchandising execution and customer‑focused product placement.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar commercial, merchandising, buying, category management, or sourcing role.
- Experience sourcing light household products such as furniture, houseware, home accessories, or related retail categories.
- Strong product, category, and brand knowledge within furniture, houseware, or household retail.
- Good understanding of buying plans, vendor coordination, inventory planning, demand forecasting, and store merchandising.
- Experience working with planograms, visual merchandising standards, promotional displays, and point‑of‑sale product visibility.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to work confidently with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong planning and organization skills with the ability to manage buying requirements, timelines, orders, and store inputs.
- Ability to analyze trends, store feedback, selling space, and product performance to support better commercial decisions.
- Practical understanding of retail store execution and how product placement affects customer choice and sales.
- Comfortable working in a head office environment while maintaining close coordination with store teams.
