Job description

We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial activities of our EPC operations. Based in Dubai, this role will support project execution across Africa and support the company’s strategic expansion into new international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Management

  • Contract negotiations, working closely with the Procurement Director to ensure alignment with procurement strategy and risk management.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and project financial reporting for the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Division in close conjunction with the Group Construction Director and the Finance Director. Note: cost control is not part of this role’s responsibility.
  • Risk Management for active and future projects.
  • Support bid development and tendering processes, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions.
  • Review and analyze Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) files for all active projects, ensuring alignment with approved plans and forecasts.
  • Provide variance analysis and commercial insights to senior management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends.
  • Prepare annual plans for each project in conjunction with the Project Director, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and resource planning.
  • Oversee client billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, in collaboration with finance and project teams.
  • Prepare and manage commercial documentation for variations and claims working closely with the Contract Manager

2. Quality Management

  • Lead internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve quality issues and drive excellence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Surveying, or related field; MBA or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial and quality roles within EPC or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale projects in Africa or emerging markets.
  • Strong understanding of international contracting standards (FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
