The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager with a proven track record in the Oil and Gas industry with similar organisations who deal with high profile clients like ADNOC.

We are focused on growth and our strategy is centered around building partnerships with our clients across the three regions: UK, Norway and the Middle East and Africa.

The key objectives for this role are:

  1. Maximize commercial performance while managing business/project risk (pre and post-contract)
  2. Commercialisation of a sub-Business Group service offerings to support business growth and strategy
  3. Developing teams with in-depth commercial and cross-functional expertise to support the assigned business
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
  5. Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues
  6. Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-Business Group / Project / Portfolio of Projects
  7. Managing the tender governance process for the sub-Business Group
  8. Manages and provides team members with the general direction in commercial activities during the contract life cycle from input into tenders through contract delivery to contract commercial closeout
  9. Implementation of commercial strategy for the Business Unit within assigned project / sub-business group and ensures alignment of objectives to the business unit strategy and promote and demonstrate safety leadership behaviors
  10. Always act ethically and with the utmost integrity
  11. Champion and promote the application of the Financial Management Framework guidelines
  12. Champion and follow the relevant DOA and commercial / contracting policies

Expected:

  1. Extensive Project Commercial Management Experience: 10-15 years of proven experience in commercial management of large-scale projects, ideally in engineering or construction-related industries.
  2. Contractual Knowledge: In-depth understanding of post-award contract management, including compensation models, risk mitigation, and change management.
  3. Strategic Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  4. Financial and Analytical Skills: Proficient in financial analysis related to project cash flow, profitability, and return on investment.
  5. Organization and Detail-Oriented: Exceptionally organized, with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to managing tasks and coordinating resources.

Educational Background

  1. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (QS), Engineering, Business, or Law.
  2. Commercial Experience Requirement: Substantial experience in Project Commercial Management (10-15 years) will be a key selection criterion, particularly in roles involving contract negotiation, project delivery, and financial management.
  3. Leadership and Influence: Strong presence and the ability to lead without direct authority, fostering effective teamwork and collaboration across project teams.
  4. Problem Solving and Resilience: Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure, adapting to project needs and evolving situations.
  5. Relationship Building: Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders, from client representatives to senior project and company leadership.
  6. Adaptability: Versatile, with the capacity to pivot between oversight and hands-on contract management based on project demands.
