Commercial Lawyer Fluent Arabic (6 month fixed term assignment)

We are seeking a Commercial Lawyer to join our client in Abu Dhabi on a fixed term in-house assignment. This role calls for a commercially savvy legal professional who can partner closely with key internal teams across operations, procurement, development, and finance. You will support the business in negotiating, structuring, and managing a broad range of commercial agreements across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, licensing and franchising deals, outsourcing arrangements, and service-level agreements.
  • Provide legal support on procurement, third-party partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
  • Advise on contract-related risk, compliance, and governance issues.
  • Collaborate closely with business and operational teams to provide practical, solutions-focused legal guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements in the UAE and wider GCC region.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years PQE, qualified in a common law or recognised international jurisdiction.
  • Strong background in commercial law, with experience supporting clients or businesses across various sectors.
  • Proven ability to handle complex contract negotiations and build strong internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with UAE/GCC legal and regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
  • Commercially minded, adaptable, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Fluent Arabic, spoken and drafting.
