The Commercial Director of Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, a Forbes 5-Star hotel, will lead the development and execution of the property’s commercial strategy across all segments and channels to maximize total revenue, market share, and profitability. This role oversees Sales, Conferences and Events, Marketing and Public Relations, and Reservations functions in collaboration with hotel leadership and regional support teams, acting as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and a brand ambassador with owners and key stakeholders.

What will I be doing?

As the Commercial Director, you will strategically lead and drive the hotel’s total commercial performance by setting and executing a clear business strategy across all revenue streams, including Rooms, Events, Food & Drinks, Leisure, and Spa. You will lead a cross-functional team and collaborate closely with the Operations team to position Waldorf Astoria Dubai as a market leader in profitability, commercial excellence, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the annual commercial strategy and budget.
  • Drive total revenue performance across all segments and channels, optimizing market share and cost of sale.
  • Partner with key departments to meet or exceed commercial targets.
  • Support strategic pricing and inventory management.
  • Build relationships with key accounts and business partners.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments.
  • Represent the hotel in commercial reviews and stakeholder presentations.
  • Align marketing, eCommerce, and Public Relations activities with the hotel’s commercial vision.
People Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop the commercial team.
  • Ensure succession planning and talent development.
  • Share best practices and develop future leaders.
  • Establish a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Participate in the hotel’s Executive Leadership Team.
Operational and Financial Oversight
  • Ensure effective use of commercial systems and tools.
  • Support business planning and revenue initiatives.
  • Review sales contracts and pricing strategies.
  • Support brand messaging and positioning.
  • Achieve revenue budgets and support financial targets.
  • Manage expenses and monitor ROI of initiatives.
  • Analyze business performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years in hospitality/travel industry in a revenue-generating or commercial role.
  • Experience presenting to senior executives.
  • Previous experience in a similar role at a luxury hotel in UAE.
  • Knowledge of Marketing and E-commerce.
  • Experience with financial data analysis and business opportunity evaluation.
  • Management experience of a sales or commercial team.
Preferred Attributes

Experience working in a multi-complex hotel environment and proficiency in local language are advantageous.
