Job summary

Saverglass seeks an experienced Cold End Inspection and Maintenance Technician to optimize line efficiency from lehr exit to finished product pallet evacuation. You will set up and maintain cold end equipment, monitor performance, and lead quick-changeovers with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, data logging in CAM/CMMS, and continuous improvement of automated glassware lines. English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up cold end inspection machines and packing equipment; ensure smooth operation and quick analysis of failures.
• Perform maintenance: cleaning, repair, preventive checks on cold end equipment and conveyors.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for major failures and document actions and results in the CMMS.
• Attend production routines and propose actions to improve performance and safety.

Role & responsibilities

Business Need/Purpose of the Role:In a shift pattern, responsible for inspection machines efficiency as well as line performances, changeovers and maintenance of whole cold end equipments (cold end treatment, conveyors, inspection machines, pallettisors, wrapping and automatic labelling machines), from lehr exit to finished product pallet evacuation.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities: (results this role is expected to accomplish)

Cold End inspection machines and Packing equipments set-up

• Stabilised production :
• Continuously check in cold end shop floor the smooth run of machines, and ensure fast analyse and fix in case of failure.
• Adapt set-up if necessary. Make and organise all necessary changes. Is responsible of inspections machines and equipments settings. Make immediately all necessary steps required after production or quality demand, especially concerning ejection of standard / current production defect samples.
• Job change-over : in the role given by cold-end technical supervisor (from lehr exit to wrapper), is responsible of performing all necessary settings to quickly ensure smooth and qualitative running of equipments, based on set-up check-lists, defects samples and existing work-instructions.

Maintenance and Continuous Improvement

• Ensure maintenance of equipments: cleaning, control and repair, warehousing. This includes the whole of the cold end perimeter.
• Perform all required asset care tasks: preventive, breakdown, root cause analysis, potential trouble prevention.
• Achieve improvement goals assigned on dedicated equipments if applicable.
• Warn for help from other technicians / people if necessary.
• Ensure factual report about faced troubles, with identification of main analysis steps, actions engaged and results.
• Attend daily and weekly production routines organised to track performances and action plans, propose and timely put in place agreed actions.
• Ensure respect and promotion of Quality Management programs and procedures. Act in full conformity with defined procedures and work instructions, and with respect of safety rules. Make all of them respected.
• Propose and put in place preventive actions to improve performances, together with root cause analysis of major failures. Ensure action control. Continuously use CAM/CMMS soft to register failure history and use it as a improvement tool.
• Get himself involved in new equipments set-up, and pay attention to safety, environment, quality and food safety aspects together with reliability and performances.
• Agree on doing all other tasks that may be required for plant efficient operation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma in Electricity / Automatisms + ideally Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant experience in Cold End Process and Maintenance in similar automated glassware industry (ideally ISO managed) and comparable position
• Technical Knowledge of automated glass inspection and handling. A MSC machines (Check+, MCAL, MCF, Multistation) knowledge would be key advantage.
• English communications skills: verbal and written.
• Familiar with IT tools.
• Be a team player, and take responsibility for own work environment.
