Candidates should have a Technical Diploma in Engineering and 1-3 years of relevant experience, with a preference for UAE nationals.

Job description

Field Operator, Coal and Ash - Hassyan Plant, Dubai, will be responsible for all field operations of jetty systems, coal handling system, ash handling system. He/she must coordinate closely with the Coal and Ash control room, operate local valves, pumps, and equipment, check plant conditions, and isolate equipment for maintenance. Ensure plant housekeeping, complete daily checklists, and report all activities to the control room.

Field Operations Responsibilities:

  1. Follow safety guidelines including the PTW system.
  2. Comply with all statutory and environmental norms.
  3. Support the Shift Supervisor in system configuration, line-up, and equipment isolation.
  4. Monitor and record local parameters such as levels, pressure, temperatures, vibrations, and heat of equipment.
  5. Observe plant conditions, listen for abnormal sounds, detect vibrations and heat, and report abnormalities.
  6. Coordinate with control room operations.
  7. Report any leakages of coal, ash, air, or water.
  8. Manually operate valves, dampers, and equipment.
  9. Check piping hangers and supports for correct positioning.
  10. Inspect valves, safety valves, and PRVs for proper operation and report issues.
  11. Document major activities and events in logbooks and fill area log sheets.
  12. Follow SOPs and operating instructions.
  13. Switch between automatic and manual controls; mechanically and electrically isolate equipment for repairs.
  14. Adjust and control valves to regulate system operations.
  15. Report accidents, suggest preventive measures.
  16. Provide first-line support for fire and emergency situations, keeping CCR informed.
  17. Report unsafe conditions and acts to the appropriate authority.
  18. Participate proactively in team activities.
  19. Perform any other duties assigned by the shift engineer or desk operator.
  20. Adhere to safety rules; be familiar with fire safety equipment in the area.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment:

  • Follow all health, safety, security, and environmental procedures and instructions to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Regularly monitor environmental parameters and report deviations for corrective action.

Who will fit?:

  • A Technical Diploma in Engineering.
