Key Accountabilities
- Provide competent, professional, and safe instructions using expert fitness skills and equipment to train students, faculty, and staff in proper sports and fitness techniques.
- Plan, organize, and deliver a range of sports activities and programs for individuals and teams, effectively organizing class timings for maximum practice.
- Participate in organizing and supervising sports events, festivals, championships, tournaments, and competitions within and outside the university.
- Ensure safety by complying with safe operating procedures at all times to prevent accidents, handle sports injuries, and manage emergency health issues.
- Monitor and evaluate all sports sessions and programs, and contribute to developing new and advanced fitness initiatives.
- Encourage students to participate in competitions by coaching and supervising the university team for various sporting events.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle by encouraging healthy eating and developing suitable exercise schedules for students, faculty, and staff.
- Manage the safety of gym equipment and facilities through regular checks and reporting damages or malfunctions to responsible personnel.
- Foster cooperation by communicating with UKF and external entities to organize sports activities for governmental authorities, institutions, and departments, promoting community engagement.
- Ensure gym safety by adhering to operating procedures to prevent accidents and respond to emergency situations, providing first aid and contacting emergency services when needed.
Complete any other job-related tasks assigned by the line manager within the expected timeframe.

- Participate in developing and executing the department/college’s operational and business plans aligned with the university’s strategic objectives.

- Provide input to improve processes and procedures, ensuring best practices are implemented.
- Follow all relevant procedures and instructions accurately for consistent job performance.
Systems, Processes, and Reports
- Generate and submit relevant reports timely and accurately to meet department standards.
- Operate required software and hardware effectively and accurately.
Key Interactions
Internal: Students, academic and non-academic staff, colleges, departments, centers, Facilities Management Planning Department.
External: Maintenance companies, sports equipment suppliers, government organizations, UAE universities.
Required Qualification & Experience
- Diploma in Athletics, Physical Education, or a relevant discipline.
- 2-3 years UAE experience in a similar role, preferably in higher education institutions.
Priority is given to UAE Nationals.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English, both oral and written.
- Good physical fitness and observation skills.
- Ability to act calmly and quickly in emergencies.
- Knowledge of injuries, sports psychology, and nutrition.
- Clear communication and authoritative presence in emergencies.
- Ability to enforce safety rules tactfully and firmly.
