Job summary

A leading engineering service provider in Sharjah is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to set up and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills. The ideal candidate will have a strong CNC background, preferably 4-5 years of experience, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities include preparing machine work plans and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Overview

LIN SCAN is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer who will set up programs, operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills without assistance and prepare libraries for all designs with proper index.

Responsibilities
  • Set up programs, operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills without assistance.
  • Prepare library for all design with proper index.
  • Prepare daily plan for CNC machine work.
  • Read and interpret 3D drawings and IGES files.
  • Load and unload castings and raw materials in CNC machinery safely.
  • Use gauges and other measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Be self-sufficient: set up, program, operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills without assistance.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce setup time and improve machining through process improvements.
  • Proficiency with FANUC controls and the ability to read, interpret and edit FANUC G-code programming.
  • Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and tooling.
  • Understand and perform tool wear offsets.
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the machine shop work environment.
  • Provide feedback and input on process improvement within the department.
  • Adhere to ISO requirements and safety procedures; comply with quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
  • Attend schedules meetings and participate by providing meaningful inputs.
  • Remain flexible with time and schedule to ensure availability to the company as circumstances require.
  • Communicate honestly, professionally and respectfully; demonstrate effective listening skills.
Skills / Experience
  • High school diploma or higher from technical specialization.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in CNC programming.
  • Strong CNC machining background.
  • Experience with stainless steel, aluminum and castings.
  • Knowledge of CNC milling, lathe and drilling machine operations.
  • Open minded, good listener with good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computers and MS software.
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of other languages is a plus.
Physical And Mental Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility: Ability to walk and climb; maneuver within a refinery or plant environment and access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to communicate effectively.
  • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
  • Safety Equipment: Able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if needed in manufacturing environments.
  • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient mobility and reflexes to perform duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
