Job summary

Maestra in Dubai seeks a skilled CNC Operator to join the Events & Exhibitions production team. You will operate CNC routing and cutting machines, reading AutoCAD layouts and SketchUp models to ensure precise production.

The role requires attention to detail, quality workmanship and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a collaborative workshop. Experience with MDF, plywood, acrylic and laminates is preferred, along with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of CNC operator experience in events/exhibitions or joinery environments.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Proficiency in reading AutoCAD drawings and SketchUp models.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC routing and cutting machines according to approved drawings and production requirements.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our Events & Exhibitions production team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines. The role requires the ability to read and understand technical drawings, AutoCAD files, and SketchUp models to ensure accurate production and high-quality workmanship.

What You'll Do

• Operate CNC machines according to approved drawings, cutting files, and production requirements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, AutoCAD layouts, and SketchUp models.
• Review dimensions, material specifications, and cutting requirements before starting production.
• Set up machines, tools, materials, and operating parameters correctly for each job.
• Check material type, thickness, and quantity prior to cutting.
• Ensure finished components meet quality standards and required dimensions.
• Optimize cutting layouts to minimize material waste.
• Monitor machine performance and report faults or abnormalities immediately.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain CNC tools, cutters, and related equipment in good working condition.
• Label and organize completed components according to project requirements.
• Record production output, material usage, and wastage when required.
• Coordinate with workshop supervisors, production teams, and project teams to meet deadlines.
• Follow all workshop safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Report machine damage, quality concerns, and safety issues promptly.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a CNC Operator, preferably within events, exhibitions, joinery, fit-out, or custom fabrication industries.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to read and understand AutoCAD drawings and SketchUp models.
• Experience operating CNC routing and cutting machines.
• Knowledge of materials commonly used in exhibition and event production, including MDF, plywood, acrylic and laminates.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team.
