Job Summary
The CNC Machinist is producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine and responsible for maintaining part quality, safety standards & company equipment’s.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules policies provided by NOV.
- Produce/Machine threaded Connections & parts as per the provided drawing and program.
- Inspect and verify that each thread & part is generated as per the provided specification.
- Follow all the guidelines provided by the Superintendent.
- Maintain a neat and dean working environment.
- Responsible for care, use, and protection of all company equipment. Know, understand, and follow all company and department safety rules.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area. Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent.
- Perform job duties accurately and responsible. Verify part and work order.
Behavioral Skills/Competencies Required
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments.
- Study First article parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to Machining products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
- Math Skills: - Good math skills will help CNC machinists understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly.
- Problem Solving Skills: - CNC machinists will need to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output and how to fix errors.
- Attention to Detail: - CNC machinists will work with precision equipment. Being off by millimeters & Inches (Thousandth of an inch.) could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required.
- Mechanical and Technical Skills: - Machines controlled by computers will need operators who understand CAD/CAM technology.
- Stamina: - CNC machinists often work long hours doing repetitive movements.
- Conceptual Skills: - Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Tooling, Coordination, Attention to Detail and Judgment
Qualifications / Experience Required
- DME or ITI or vocational training courses in mechanical engineering with 2 years of experience.
- Work experience in Turner, Machinist, Fitter trades.
Experience
- DMG Mori (Beta-CTX2000 TC, Gamma CTX3000TC),
- Mazak Machines (Integrex 400, ST450, STN500/550M),
- ROMI Machine (M33, M43),
- Doosan (Puma700LM, DBC130L).
- Oil & Gas experience in the manufacturing field.
Skills, Training, special knowledge, and/or Language skills
- Candidate must be familiar with operating a CNC machine, on Rotatory Shoulder Connections (API, Grant Prideco, Tenaris, Vam etc.) and HWDP (Drill pipe, Drill Collars and Drill Stem Components).
- Must be able to communicate in English and able to take and follow written and verbal instructions.
