Job description

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating computer-controlled woodworking machines for joinery production. The operator will work with machine-ready files provided by the CAD team. They must be able to understand technical drawings, make necessary modifications when required, and report any related issues to the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Technical diploma or certificate in woodworking, mechanical operations, or a related field experience.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC drilling or routing machines in a joinery or furniture manufacturing environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate CNC machines according to provided drawings and specifications.
• Inspect incoming materials before loading, ensure proper alignment for accurate drilling and routing, and check finished parts for quality and accuracy before proceeding to the next stage.
• Keep machines clean, regularly inspected, and in proper working condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and support a smooth, efficient workflow on the shop floor.
• Identify and resolve basic machine malfunctions or tooling issues, escalating complex problems to maintenance or supervisors as needed.
• Accurately log production data, machine parameters, and any deviations or issues encountered during operation.
