We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CMDB Solutions Architect to lead the design, integration, and implementation of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) initiative. This role involves transforming the CMDB into a robust, scalable, and integrated system within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus to support IT Service Management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of the CMDB within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, aligning with ITIL v4 and organizational standards.
- Review and assess current inventory lists and identify gaps or inconsistencies for resolution during implementation.
- Define and implement improvements to CI classification, relationships, attributes, and lifecycle management.
- Define and implement IT and Business Services, and map CI relationships.
- Collaborate with technical experts across infrastructure, networking, clinical applications, engineering, asset management, and information security to identify key data sources.
- Integrate the CMDB with network discovery tools to support automated discovery and CI updates.
- Develop and maintain CMDB governance procedures, including data quality management, change control, and audit readiness.
- Provide hands-on configuration and scripting within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus where necessary.
- Lead data cleansing and normalization efforts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of CIs.
- Train staff and develop documentation for ongoing maintenance and sustainability of the CMDB.
- Deliver comprehensive handover and operational readiness documentation to ensure smooth CMDB operations.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Proven experience in designing and implementing a CMDB in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus (mandatory).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Service Management, with at least 3 years focused on CMDB-related work.
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices, especially Configuration Management, Asset Management, and Change Management.
- Hands-on experience integrating CMDBs with discovery platforms/tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate technical requirements into effective CMDB configurations.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple technical and functional stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification or higher.
- Experience working in a healthcare or hospital IT environment.
- Exposure to scripting or automation tools to support CMDB integration.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture practices related to Configuration Management.
