Job summary

GEMS Education is seeking a Cluster Arabic and Islamic Lead to oversee Arabic and Islamic education across a UAE cluster. You will develop action plans, implement strategies, and monitor progress to raise student achievement and experience.

The role requires strong leadership, expert knowledge in Arabic/Islamic subjects, and hands-on coaching of teaching teams to drive continued improvement across schools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership role (Head of Department or equivalent).
• 3+ years of teaching experience in Arabic/Islamic subjects.
• Experience training and coaching teams to improve practice.
• Proven impact on Arabic/Islamic outcomes in a school setting.
• Experience as a senior leadership team member is desirable.
• Bachelor or higher in Arabic, Islamic Studies or Education (desirable).

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cluster Arabic and Islamic Lead to join GEMS Education schools in UAE . The successful candidate will oversee the provision of Arabic and Islamic across the cluster through developing, implementing, and evaluating Arabic and Islamic specific action plans in line with the cluster’s strategic plan for the purpose of improving students’ performance and experience in the Arabic and Islamic classroom. The successful candidate should be adaptable, motivated by challenge and have a proven track record of outstanding practice. As a Cluster lead for Arabic and Islamic , you will work closely with Heads of Department in shaping a vision and direction for Arabic and Islamic, and with a clear focus on student achievement and progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive improvements in teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum planning in line with best practices.
• Develop, support and monitor the implementation of action plans at the levels of the cluster as well as individual schools.
• Design and deliver professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning practices and coach and monitor the implementation of the introduced strategies and approaches.
• Collaborate with other departments in the school to ensure that the approaches adopted in the
• Arabic and Islamic departments align with best practices in other school departments wherever possible.
• Ensure that schools implement robust assessment approaches and make effective use of data in Arabic and Islamic.
• Ensure that the team implements effective documentation and evidencing processes.
• Support school leadership in conducting performance evaluations for teachers and heads of departments.
• Support school leadership in the preparation for inspections (SEF writing, “mock” inspections, etc.)
• Develop approaches to enhance parental engagement across the cluster.
• Ensure that the schools identify and adopts digital tools and platforms effectively.
• Ensure that schools are compliant in terms of teacher recruitment, curriculum etc.
• Support in teacher recruitment through interviews and demo lessons as needed.

Job Requirements

1. 1- B.A. in Arabic language or Islamic Studies or Educatio / M.A. in Education (desirable).
2. 2- At least 5 years of relevant leadership experience (head of department or pedagogy coach or equivalent).
3. 3- At least 3 years of teaching experience
4. 4- Experience providing training and coaching support to teams.
5. 5- Proven record of positive impact on Arabic and/or Islamic improvement in a school
6. 6- Experience as a senior leadership team member (desirable)
