The Role

An AWS Technical Account Manager is a trusted advisor and cloud operations architect for our Enterprise Support customers. You will help customers maximize value from cloud technology by crafting and executing strategies to increase their adoption and use of AWS services, including EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, IoT, and more.

You will partner with a range of clients, from startups to large enterprises, providing advice on architecture, support strategy, project planning, and operational issues. Your role involves building trusting relationships, driving technical discussions, and proactively identifying opportunities for customers to derive additional value from AWS.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on solutions, provide technical guidance, and advocate for the customer.
  • Ensure AWS environments are operationally healthy, cost-effective, and less complex.
  • Develop trusting relationships by understanding customer business needs and technical challenges.
  • Lead technical discussions on incidents, tradeoffs, and risk management.
  • Consult with developers, executives, and partners across various teams.
  • Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, and Sales teams.
  • Proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
  • Review service events and metrics regularly, and assist with prelaunch planning.
  • Assist customers migrating workloads to the cloud and uplift their capabilities through workshops and sessions.

Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in roles such as Technical Account Manager, Consultant, Solutions Architect, Platform Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Cloud Architect.
  • Understanding of operational parameters and troubleshooting in Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data, Security, and Applications Development.
  • Experience working with internal enterprise or external customer-facing environments, with the ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer obsession and professional experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Programming or scripting skills (Java, Python, Perl, Ruby, C#, PHP) are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef) is advantageous.
