Job summary

Remotedxb is seeking an experienced engineer to drive large-scale migrations from on‑prem to cloud across multiple business processes. You will analyze workloads, plan infrastructure, and oversee testing, deployment, and post‑release validation.

The role requires hands‑on engineering in Python/Java, strong Unix/Linux skills, and familiarity with CI/CD and Kubernetes. Collaboration with application, infrastructure, and platform teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on engineering experience in a collaborative environment.
• Professional proficiency in Python, Java, or a similar programming/scripting language.
• Strong Unix/Linux fundamentals with troubleshooting skills for application and runtime issues.
• Familiarity with SDLC practices, CI/CD delivery models, change management, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assess on-prem hosts and perform discovery across processes, CPU, memory, storage, dependencies, and runtime patterns.
• Analyze workloads to determine cloud compute placement based on functionality and resiliency requirements.
• Plan and provision required cloud infrastructure capacity for migration, testing, and production.
• Execute UAT and production parallel testing, troubleshoot discrepancies, and capture evidence.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization to ensure migrated workloads are stable and scalable.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams to finalize migration plans and rollback considerations.
• Manage release readiness, execute production deployment, and complete post-release validation.
• Support legacy on-premises host decommissioning.
• Design and implement automation frameworks and AI-assisted solutions for large-scale migrations.
• Document migration procedures, operational learnings, risks, and best practices.
