Assists patients, families, and significant others with their psychological, social, environmental, financial, and emotional problems by conducting psychosocial assessments related to presenting problems/concerns and providing necessary interventions to enhance patient quality of life.

Responsibilities
Managerial
Involved in daily workload management within the specialist area, considering changing demands and prioritizing caseloads.
Supervise junior staff and ensure adherence to rules and policies of the section/department/facility.
Technical
Take responsibility for vulnerable clients by assessing their needs, formulating social care plans, and coordinating resources, including liaising with government or charity agencies.
Conduct initial psychosocial assessments, develop care strategies, and update patient records in accordance with JCI standards.
Advocate for patients, ensuring their wishes are central in care planning.
Address legal issues with relevant authorities and ensure safe discharge procedures.
Coordinate with other agencies and support services, including follow-up psychiatric visits and documentation.
Respect patient rights, cultural beliefs, and customs.
Follow up on approved cases, ensuring treatment coverage is processed.
Promote awareness of social work practices and facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration.
Liaise with external organizations to provide comprehensive services and advocate for patients' rights.
Maintain accurate clinical records and exercise professional governance.
Manage emotionally distressing situations and uphold confidentiality.
Participate in discharge planning, multidisciplinary meetings, and provide psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions.
Quality & Safety
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
Assist in policy development and ensure SOPs and QA standards are maintained.
Participate in training, committees, and professional development activities.
Complete all regulatory and licensure requirements.
Engage in clinical supervision and ongoing education.
Qualifications
BSc and Master’s degree in Social Work; two years of experience; Arabic speaker.
