Job summary

SEHA in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Psychologist to provide highly specialized clinical psychology consultations and interventions across diverse populations. The role involves autonomous practice, risk assessment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a remote-capable hospital setting.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in clinical psychology and a current National License, with experience in hospital or clinical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialist one-to-one clinical psychological consultations within area of specialization.
  • Provide psychological interventions for individuals, families and groups.
  • Coordinate risk assessment and formulate management plans.
  • Participate in decision making for and evaluating treatment options.
  • Promote high quality psychological services to patients and carers.
  • Provide psychological services as an autonomous practitioner to service-users and teams.
  • Advise multi-disciplinary teams on psychological aspects of care planning.
  • Develop psychosocial formulations for complex cases.
  • Exercise professional responsibility for assessment, treatment, or referral of clients.
  • Provide casework for people with severe psychological difficulties.

Qualifications

Managerial Responsibilities
  • Ensuring and participating in providing coverage to the various service areas or populations and settings
  • Collaborating with senior clinical psychologists in the provision of consultative services internally and externally
Technical Responsibilities
  • Providing highly specialist one-to-one clinical psychological consultations within areas of specialization
  • Providing psychological interventions for individuals, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models
  • Coordinating the assessment and formulation of risk management plans for clients within their caseload
  • Participating in decision making for and evaluating treatment options
  • Promoting high quality psychological services to patients and carers
  • Providing psychological services as an autonomous/independent practitioner to service-users, carers and team colleagues
  • Providing advice to multi-disciplinary teams on the psychological aspects of the needs assessment and care planning process
  • Developing psychosocial formulations for service-users with the most highly complex problems
  • Exercising professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and/or referral of clients
  • Providing casework for people experiencing severe psychological difficulties
Quality & Safety
  • Promoting and maintaining quality in all services and ensuring continuous quality improvement measures are in place
  • Complying with all safety, health and quality control programs and procedures
  • Maintaining the strictest confidence in relation to patient information
  • Practicing within the expressed limits of established policies and procedures
  • Supporting clinical audit processes within the service
Education
  • Participating in training and education sessions for department staff, doctors and nurses
  • Participating in department programs/committees, various hospital committees, and staff meetings
  • Participating in the orientation and training of new employees
  • Maintaining professional knowledge by attending lectures, seminars or online education units
