We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC for a:

Civil Supervisor

Job Purpose :

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on DEWA Substations Projects, supervising site cabling works, duct sealing, and reinstatement of 132kV Substations to ensure quality, safety, and timely project completion.

Main duties include :

• Internal coordination: Attend sectional and inter-departmental meetings with DEWA to resolve issues and facilitate efficient work planning and execution.
• Reinstatement works: Perform daily activities such as backfilling and civil reinstatement of HV and LV cable installations, prioritizing tasks to meet KPIs.
• Duct sealing: Monitor and manage duct sealing of cable entries in 132kV substations, ensuring standards and regulations are met.
• External coordination: Coordinate with authorities, contractors, and consultants for civil works management.
• Road cutting: Supervise contractor activities for road cutting for duct installation.
• MDP foundations: Oversee manufacturing processes of MDP foundations.
• Horticulture reinstatement: Manage removal and reinstatement of horticulture and irrigation lines.
• Certification: Obtain completion certificates from authorities and verify contractor work measurements and invoices.
• Site visits: Regularly visit sites to monitor progress, resolve issues, and prepare reports.
• Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Safety: Adhere to DEWA's OH&S safety standards.
• Others: Perform additional duties as required.

Profile

Ideal candidates will have a degree in civil engineering from a recognized university and at least 5 years of experience in substation construction and cable laying for major power projects.

Minimum 3 years of experience in backfilling and civil reinstatement of HV and LV cabling, duct sealing, and MDP manufacturing, with coordination with consultants and contractors.

Experience working in GCC countries, especially the UAE, is preferred.

Proven safety knowledge and practices are required.

Proficiency in computer skills, power industry software, and Microsoft Office is essential. Good communication and presentation skills in English are also required.
