Role Overview

The Structural Engineer will oversee and manage all structural engineering activities for transportation projects during pre-construction and construction phases. Experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and railway projects is essential. The role ensures compliance with safety, quality, and structural standards, working closely with various departments to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

1. Validate structural designs provided by D&B contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
2. Review and assess structural reports, drawings, and specifications submitted by contractors.
3. Evaluate structural analysis and provide recommendations for elevated station design and construction.
4. Identify and mitigate structural risks, advising on opportunities and threats.
5. Provide progress reports to clients and stakeholders, highlighting risks and mitigation measures.
6. Address stakeholder concerns regarding structural integrity or project progress promptly.
7. Ensure provision of all structural data to the Contract Administration Senior Manager.
8. Offer technical support during construction supervision, resolving structural issues.
9. Coordinate with departments to ensure legal, financial, and corporate compliance.
10. Prepare and deliver structural presentations as needed.
11. Facilitate progression through coordination meetings, ensuring all structural obligations are met.
12. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and authorities to meet structural requirements.
13. Mentor and guide junior engineers and project team members on structural matters.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) status is advantageous.

Knowledge and Experience

• 7-10 years of experience in structural engineering, especially in railway stations or large transportation infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of railway-specific design standards and safety requirements.
• Experience in PMC and railway projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro) and steel fabrication processes.
• Experience with steel façade design and complex structural projects, particularly in railway sectors.

• Expertise in steel structure and façade design, capable of solving complex engineering challenges.
• Strong project management, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication abilities and experience mentoring teams.
• Knowledge of international and local design codes and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
