Job Role:

A Civil Maintenance Supervisor or Civil Inspector in a Facilities Maintenance setting plays a key role in ensuring that all civil structures, finishes, and infrastructure within a property or facility are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with relevant standards.

Job Summary:

The Civil Maintenance Supervisor/Inspector is responsible for overseeing and inspecting civil maintenance works across the facility, ensuring that all building infrastructure and finishes—such as walls, ceilings, floors, pavements, and drainage systems—are kept in excellent condition. The role involves both hands-on supervision of repair and maintenance work and quality control inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision & Execution:

• Oversee day-to-day civil maintenance activities such as masonry, plastering, painting, tiling, concrete repairs, waterproofing, and minor construction works.
• Supervise in-house technicians or third-party vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of maintenance tasks.

Inspection & Quality Control:

• Inspect civil structures and finishes periodically to assess wear and tear, identify defects, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all repair and maintenance activities comply with local codes, regulations, and quality standards.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:

• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and extend the life of structures and finishes.
• Respond promptly to civil-related maintenance requests and emergencies.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance work, materials used, and compliance reports.
• Generate reports and escalate recurring issues to the Facilities Manager or Engineering Head.

Health & Safety Compliance:

• Ensure that civil maintenance work is carried out safely, minimizing risk to personnel and property.
• Promote adherence to safety protocols, including the use of PPE and hazard identification.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for outsourced civil works.
• Ensure the availability of materials, tools, and equipment for maintenance operations.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or civil site supervision.
• Strong understanding of building systems, finishing materials, and civil repair techniques.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in using inspection tools and reporting systems.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.
