Job Description

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure and civil projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand scope and requirements.
• Develop and maintain a database of costs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Bid Preparation:
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to prepare competitive bids.
• Review and assess contractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Identify and quantify potential risks and uncertainties in the project scope and estimate accordingly.
• Project Planning and Scheduling:
• Develop and maintain project schedules, considering project milestones, deadlines, and resource availability.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely delivery of project components.
• Technical Evaluation:
• Evaluate technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical support and clarification during the bidding process and throughout the project lifecycle.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimation reports, including detailed breakdowns of costs and resources.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimation activities and update them regularly.
• Report on project progress, budget status, and any deviations from the plan.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete project estimates.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
• Stay updated with industry trends, construction methods, and materials.
• Identify opportunities for cost-saving and process improvements in estimation practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating infrastructure, civil, and chilled water projects.
