Job summary

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team to support major transportation, roads, utilities and infrastructure projects. You will contribute to planning, design, coordination and delivery across all design stages.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and 5–10 years of experience in consultancy environments, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D and familiarity with UAE standards. You will liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5–10 years of civil engineering experience on transportation, roads, utilities and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and infrastructure design standards.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and producing drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil engineering design and technical delivery for roads, highways, transportation, utilities and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across Roads, Structures, Utilities, Landscape and Traffic disciplines.
• Review design drawings, submissions and project deliverables to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Support project managers and senior engineers to meet milestones and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges and participating in design reviews and value engineering.

The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering solutions while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes across all design stages.

• Support the development of concept, preliminary, and detailed design solutions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Roads, Structures, Utilities, Landscape, and Traffic disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with client requirements, project specifications, and relevant local and international standards.
• Review design drawings, technical submissions, and project deliverables.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering studies, technical reports, and design presentations.
• Support project managers and senior engineers in the delivery of project milestones.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders as required.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges and developing practical engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and value engineering exercises.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project outputs.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5-10 years of civil engineering experience on transportation, roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience working within engineering consultancy environments.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and infrastructure design standards.
• Experience in the preparation and coordination of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and infrastructure design standards.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication, technical report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working on major infrastructure projects within the UAE or GCC region is preferred.
• Membership of a recognized professional engineering institution is advantageous.
• Consultant-side infrastructure design experience is essential.
