Job summary

WSP USA in Abu Dhabi seeks a Civil Engineer to join our team, delivering major transportation, roads, utilities and infrastructure projects across the design stages. You will contribute to planning, design, coordination and delivery while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in civil engineering, 5–10 years of UAE/GCC experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Experience with UAE authority requirements and consultant-side design is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience in civil engineering design across roads, utilities and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of design principles and infrastructure standards.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil engineering design and technical delivery for roads, highways, transportation, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Support the development of concept, preliminary, and detailed design solutions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Roads, Structures, Utilities, Landscape, and Traffic disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with client requirements, project specifications, and relevant local and international standards.
• Review design drawings, technical submissions, and project deliverables.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering studies, technical reports, and design presentations.
• Support project managers and senior engineers in the delivery of project milestones.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders as required.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges and developing practical engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and value engineering exercises.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project outputs.

• 5-10 years of civil engineering experience on transportation, roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects.

• Proven experience working within engineering consultancy environments.

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and infrastructure design standards.

• Experience in the preparation and coordination of engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and infrastructure design standards.

• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Strong communication, technical report writing, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working on major infrastructure projects within the UAE or GCC region is preferred.

• Membership of a recognized professional engineering institution is advantageous.

• Consultant-side infrastructure design experience is essential.
