Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and direct infrastructure construction projects. Manage budgeting and ensure timely completion.
• Plan, design and manage roads, bridges, dams, and buildings to ensure safety and functionality within budget and schedule.
• Oversee all aspects of project management: pre-planning, resource allocation, budgeting, contracts, supervision, and coordination.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork throughout projects.
• Prepare project reports and documentation; conduct site investigations and analyses; develop specifications; procure materials; liaise with professionals.

• Civil engineers must specialize in the planning, designing, and managing construction projects such as roads, bridges, dams, and buildings. They ensure that infrastructure projects are safe, functional, and completed within budget and on schedule.
• They take on the responsibility of the successful completion of projects, dealing with all aspects of project management, which include pre‑planning, resource allocation, budgeting, contract negotiation, supervising, and worker coordination.
• Civil engineers require technical proficiency, problem‑solving skills, communication, project management, teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, and continuous learning.
• They should have technical competence, excellent communication skills, ethical behaviour, project management skills, adaptability, and teamwork.
